Kt Boehrer, the declination Lady, introduces her book
(p.9) about declinations with the following anecdote:
- "There is an aspect, that has long been known
by man and long forgotten by astrology. This aspect
is symbolised by the angle of the forefinger and middle
finger of Christ on Byzantine icons, by the angle
of the forefinger and middle finger of certain Buddhist
statues and by the anghle of the forefinger and the
middle finger of the Pope when he gives his blessing,
clearly conveying God's blessing of peace, protection
and love on his children. The angle of the forefinger
and ring finger measures 23, 5 degress."
-
This
aspect is also the declination of the earth, 23,5°.
- This aspect is also declination.
In some Ephemerides you can still find declination together
with longitude, and in the aspectarian you can find side
by side, the major aspects of longitude and the parallel
and contra-parallel, the latter both aspects of declination.
But many Ephemerides don't give them anymore. And so many
astrologers forgot one of the two dimensions of real astrology.
It's like giving one an address with only the streetname
without housenumber.
- The parallel (contra-parallel) is the strongest
of all aspects, formed by declination and has the
same nature of a longitudinal conjunction of opposition.
The influence of a parallel can even last longer than
that of an longitudinal conjunction of opposition.
- And even more, declination is the real base of
longitude.
- For the declination is the real base of the Tropic
astrology. Our Western astrology is based on
the seasons, therefore we use the Tropic Zodiac.
The seasons are caused by the declination of
earth. Therefore we speak of Tropic astrology,
because two of the four most importants points are
the solstice points, one on the Tropic
of Cancer (0° Cancer the beginning of Summer)
and one on the Tropic of Capricorne (0°
Capricorne, the beginning of Winter), on both points
the Sun stands still (Solstice: Sol = sun and Stice:
stands still), to turn around and pursuing his way
to the other side, on the way travelling via the equinoxes,
the two other cardinal points 0° Aries (the beginning
of Spring) and 0° Libra (the beginning of Autumn).
Year after year the sun follows the same way: the
super highway or the ecliptic.
Leigh Westin put it all together in her book:
- declination causes the seasons
- without declination no seasons
- without seasons no lifecycle
- without seasons no tropic Zodiak
- without Tropic Zodiak no Western astrology
- without declination no cardinal points
- without declination days equals nights
- without declination no solstitia
- without declination no antiscia
